IMARA FOR BLACK MEN AND GIRLS’ EMPOWERMENT (IMAGE)
IMAGE (IMARA for Black Men and Girls Empowerment) is a family-based HIV/STI intervention engaging Black girls (ages 13-17 years old), young women (ages 18-24 years old), and Black men in their lives (i.e., biological fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, brothers, uncles, mentors). Program modules focus on sexual violence and objectification of Black girls and women, relationships, and how to be a positive role model for Black girls. IMAGE is delivered over Saturdays and Sundays at local community-based organizations on Chicago’s South and West sides.
