GINA SISSOKO, PhD
Dr. Gina Sissoko is a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher at the Yale School of Public Health. Her research examines colorism and appearance-based stress as upstream determinants of mental and sexual health among Black women and girls. She maintains an active program of domestic and global research, with ongoing work in the United States, Germany, Zambia, and South Africa. She translates this science into culturally grounded consulting for beauty and wellness brands, helping organizations understand the psychological impact of colorism, representation, and beauty hierarchies on the communities they serve.
